International Education and Exchange International Education Week (November 17-21, 2008)
Celebrating and Promoting International Education and Exchange International Education Week (IEW) is a a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to recognize the global exchange environment between the United States and other countries.
International Education Week (IEW) is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. Initiated in 2000 by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, IEW (http://iew.state.gov ) takes place annually in many universities and schools around the country and globe. It emphasizes the importance of increasing student knowledge and awareness of the world’s cultures, peoples and languages, and affirms the critical role that international education and exchange programs play in fostering world peace.
