Call for papers for special issue of HUD’s Cityscape (via email)

Dear GPEIGers,

As we mentioned in our last email, GPEIG has been given the wonderful opportunity to select two papers for possible publication in a special international issue of HUD’s Cityscape Journal in Nov 2008.  The guest editors for this issue are Professors Steve Malpezzi and Richard Green.

The scope of the issue is quite flexible.  The articles can be of international issues or cases that may be of interest to a U.S. policy audience or U.S. cases that might be of interest to a foreign audience.  Please note that while these articles will not go through the usual editorial process of double-blind, peer reviews, they will be reviewed to see if they are appropriate for a U.S. government publication.  Previously published papers may be accepted if copyright approval is attained.  Here is a link to Cityscape?s webpage: http://www.huduser.org/periodicals/cityscape.html

In their own words:
“Cityscape: A Journal of Policy Development and Research strives to share HUD-funded and other research on housing and urban policy issues with scholars, government officials, and others involved in setting policy and determining the direction of future research. Cityscape focuses on innovative ideas, policies, and programs that show promise in revitalizing cities and regions, renewing their infrastructure, and creating economic opportunities. A typical issue consists of articles that examine various aspects of a theme of particular interest to our audience.”

Interested authors, please send your submission by March 7 to .

As mentioned in the last email, we are still seeking volunteers to review and select the submissions.  GPEIG will receive $2500 for this effort.  As you may recall, we are in need of funds to provide the Lim travel awards, student subsidized tickets to our business luncheon, etc.  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact either or .

Sincerely,

GPEIG co-chairs
